Notoria

Build a learning system that grows with you.

Collect vocabulary, understand new concepts, practise your skills, and turn what you learn into lasting knowledge — all in one connected workspace.

Notoria is a private workspace for self-studying any language. It is built around the material you bring in — not a catalogue of lessons you did not choose.

Your workspace

One language. One loop.

Save what matters, organise it, then practise writing, listening, speaking, and reading from the same place.

How Notoria works

A learning loop around your own material.

Notoria is not a course catalogue. It is a private workspace where what you collect becomes what you practise.

Vocabulary, Capture, Theory, Exercises, Writing, Listening, Speaking, and Reading stay connected — so you do not restart every time you switch tools.

  1. 01

    Collect

Save vocabulary and learning scraps as you meet them — from lessons, books, media, and conversations.

  2. 02

    Organise

Keep one structured collection per language, with meanings, examples, tags, and senses you can find again.

  3. 03

    Understand

Write theory notes in your own words when a pattern needs explaining.

  4. 04

    Practise

Turn what you saved into flashcards, quizzes, fill-in blanks, and more.

  5. 05

    Apply

Write, listen, speak, and read so the language moves beyond recognition into active use.

  6. 06

    Review

Return later, add what is new, revisit what was hard, and keep the loop moving.

Core features

Everything in one connected workspace.

Each area is built for real self-study — not isolated tools with a shared login.

Vocabulary

A personal vocabulary bank that stays useful

Store words with meanings, examples, part of speech, tags, and primary or secondary senses. What you save can become practice later.

Example: save sitten with its sequence sense and time sense, then practise both from the same entry.

Vocabulary

Word detail

Meanings stay attached to the word

Primary senses for exercises. Secondary senses for reference when you need them.

Capture

A learning inbox for fast scraps

Drop notes quickly when something appears, then process them into vocabulary, theory, writing, or exercises when you have time.

Example: capture a phrase from a podcast, then turn it into a vocabulary entry after the commute.

Capture

Inbox

Catch it now. Organise later.

Keep the moment without forcing a full entry when you are busy.

Theory

Explanations next to the language you are learning

Write grammar and usage notes in your own words. Keep them in the same workspace as the vocabulary they explain.

Example: a short note on the partitive case next to the nouns you keep forgetting.

Theory

Your note

Patterns written in your words

Revisit the explanation when the same confusion returns.

Exercises

Practice drawn from your own material

Flashcards, multiple choice, fill-in blanks, type-the-answer, match pairs, and more — built from the words and notes you already saved.

Example: a flashcard set from this week’s vocabulary instead of a generic deck.

Exercises

Practice set

Your words become the drill

Memory work stays connected to what you actually care about learning.

Skills

Writing, listening, speaking, and reading

Move beyond recognition. Produce language, work with audio, practise speaking, and read with material that belongs to your workspace.

Example: write with the week’s vocabulary, then listen to related material and speak from the same theme.

Skills

Active use

From knowing to using

Core skills areas are available on every plan; AI usage limits vary by plan.

Connections

One loop instead of scattered tools

What you capture can become vocabulary. Vocabulary can become practice. Practice can feed writing, listening, and speaking — without losing the thread.

Example: a Capture scrap becomes a word, that word appears in exercises, then shows up again in writing.

Workspace

Connected learning

Less restarting. More continuity.

The product stays out of the way so your material can stay in the centre.

Learning philosophy

Collecting words is not enough.

A list of vocabulary without understanding, practice, or use becomes another abandoned note.

Notoria exists so vocabulary, theory, exercises, and active skills can share one private home — beside your books, teachers, and media, not instead of them.

Your material belongs at the centre.

FAQ

Answers before you begin.

Practical questions about what Notoria is, how learning works, and what happens after you sign up.

About Notoria

What exactly is Notoria?

Notoria is a private workspace for self-studying any language. You keep vocabulary, notes, theory, exercises, writing, listening, speaking, and reading in one place organised by the language you are learning. It is not a school platform and not a library of ready-made courses.

Is Notoria only a vocabulary learning application?

No. Vocabulary is central, but Notoria also includes Capture, Theory, interactive exercises, writing, listening, speaking, and reading. The point is to keep those areas connected around your own material.

Who is Notoria designed for?

Independent learners who want their own material at the centre of the process — people who prefer collecting what matters to them over following someone else’s fixed syllabus.

How is Notoria different from traditional flashcard applications?

Flashcards are one practice mode inside Notoria. The product also stores meanings and examples, theory notes, Capture scraps, and skills practice in the same workspace, so review is not isolated from understanding and use.

Learning features

How does vocabulary management work?

You save words with meanings, examples, tags, and optional primary or secondary senses. That bank can then feed exercises and later review instead of living in a separate list you never reopen.

What is the purpose of the Learning Inbox (Capture)?

Capture is the quick entry point. When you notice something useful but do not have time for a full entry, you save the scrap and process it later into vocabulary, theory, writing, or exercises.

How do Theory and Exercises work together?

Theory holds explanations in your own words. Exercises turn saved vocabulary and related material into practice. You can stay with words and short drills for a while, then add theory notes when a pattern needs explaining.

What learning skills are supported? Can I practise writing, listening, speaking, and reading?

Yes. Writing, listening, speaking, and reading are part of the workspace. These areas are available on every plan; AI usage limits vary by plan.

How can I review previously collected material?

Return through Vocabulary, Theory, Exercises, and related review tools in your workspace. Continuity is the point: add what is new, revisit what was hard, and keep practising from material you already own.

Getting started

How do I create an account?

Use Get Started or Sign Up, then complete registration. You can also sign in later from the public header.

What happens after registration?

You set up a learning workspace for your language, then start collecting material. An in-app Getting Started guide explains each area once you are inside the product.

How do I choose my learning language?

Each workspace is dedicated to one learning language. You choose that language when you create the workspace, so vocabulary and practice stay organised around it.

Do I need previous learning experience?

No. Notoria does not require a fixed syllabus or prior course progress. A good first day can be a workspace and a handful of words you actually care about.

Account and availability

Which languages are supported?

You can study any language you choose. The product interface is available in many UI languages; each workspace focuses on the language you are learning.

Can I access Notoria on different devices?

Yes. Notoria is a web application at notoria.fi, so you can sign in from browsers on the devices you already use.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free covers core learning essentials with a daily AI allowance. Pro unlocks more of the AI toolkit and related extras. Premium adds personalised learning intelligence. You can compare plans in Account billing after you sign in.

How can I get help or contact support?

Open the Support page for FAQs and contact options. You can also use Contact Us for account, billing, privacy, or general questions.
